Central Park is an inner-city park in middle-upper Manhattan in New York City. It is 843 acres and the most visited park in the United States. The park was originally conceived in the early 1850s. It took $10 million and a decade to make Central Park a reality. Between 1934 to 1960, the park was in desperate deteriorating decline. Somehow, in 1962, it was designated a National Historic Landmark. The Park had decayed to the point that degenerate activity was present for two decades.

In 1974, a study was conducted that placed a Chief Executive Officer to take over every managerial authority concerning the Park and a Central Park Board of Guardians that implemented the involvement of the public. Since then, there have been many positive changes that have given us back one of our most beautiful National Historical Landmarks.

Today, Central Park is full of things to do, whether you are an art lover, nature lover, first-time visitor, or on a family outing. Equally, there are multiple activities throughout the seasons from soccer to swimming and concerts to kite flying. A bike ride, run, tour, or carriage ride will present you with sculptures, bridges, arches, and other architecture as you travel through the greenery of the Park and by the Lakes, pools, and other water features throughout the park.  There are an estimated 42 million visitors per year.
