Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is a theme park that opened on June 1, 1989. The beach-style swimming area is located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The theme of the park revolves around Disney’s legend of a typhoon that hit a tropical paradise, leaving a shrimp boat stranded on top of a mountain.  There are plenty of water-fun activities to do around the water park. "Shark Reef" is a snorkeling experience where you to get a close up of sharks, stingrays and tropical fish. To get an extended experience you can ask for a "Surface Air Snorkeling" experience where you have 30-minute using a small tank, regulator, and a buoyancy vest. "Crush 'n' Gusher" will take you and your friends on a water roller coaster raft ride through a 400-foot long course, and experience one of the largest wave pools at "Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool."  In 2014, Typhoon Lagoon had around 2,185,000 guests, making it the second most visited water park in the world. The park closes annually for safety inspections and repairs, during the winter season for a short period. A small side note to remember is that it is best to avoid wearing anything with exposed metal because it is prohibited for those who ride on the water slides.
